Emporia Semi driver involved in the Montgomery County Injury Wrack

A Semi driver of Emporia was involved in an injury accident in Southeast -Kansas on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on the US Highway 400 near the intersection with US-169 in Montgomery County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 34-year-old Joel Amos was from Emporia to the USA-400 to the west, while an SUV from 78-year-old Patricia Pickering in Pittsburg was on the highway to the east. Soldiers say Pickering SUV exceeded the center line for reasons not listed. Amos went to the west as an alternative maneuver, only to move into the same area. Pickings SUV met the Amos Semi and the connected trailer.

Pickering was brought in Labette Health in Parsons with alleged minor injuries. Amos was not injured. Both drivers wore their seat belts at the time of the crash.
