Hass criminal incidents in Midlothian rose by more than 30%, since the police continued to go through new laws with the “hangover” last year.

A police police in Scotland in Midlothian reported that the number of hate crimes recorded between October last year and in March, a third average, which covered the same period, covered the same period.

The incumbent commander Kirsty McArthur-Karre with local region told a meeting of the Midlothian police and the fire brigade committee that the crimes covered a number of aggravators such as disabilities, breed, religion, sexual orientation and transgender.

And she said that after the introduction of the law on hate crime and public order (Scotland), the climb was expected, which was introduced on April 1, 2024.

Inspector McArthur-Kerr told the board: “We still see the hangover and continue to work with partners to promote reporting on all hate crimes.

“Hass has no place in society, and the Midlothian police will actively pursue perpetrators and report crime in which evidence supports this.”

The report showed that elsewhere operations had a positive impact on the incidents in the district in the country in the country, without the road reports having no deaths on the street reports last year – something that City Councilor Peter Smaill was reported before.

And there was a decline in incidents, including the attempted burglaries by almost 13%, whereby the detection rate was higher than the national average was almost 39%.

Inspector McArthur-Kerr said that a committed housing team was selected in the district with a hand, which were selected for their investigative skills.

She told the board that the team could not only look at individual reports, but could bring them together to look for trends and tackle them.

She added the availability of Dashcam film material and doorbell camera, and the CCTV had made a big difference to catch criminals who informed the board, “It is worth its weight for gold.”
