The old country discovers the origins of organized crime on August 8th – Playstation.Blog

Hey everyone, Mafia Game Director Alex Cox here. On behalf of the team at Hangar 13, we are thrilled to reveal our new gameplay trailer for Mafia: The Old Country.

With so many details in the game that I could cross, I wanted to take this opportunity to give additional insights into all the exciting actions that we have just revealed. Here you will find a breakdown of some of the finer details that we have packed in every scene of the trailer:

When our protagonist, Enzo Favara, after receiving Don Torrisi orders, she may drive the striking contrasts between the various environments of the Sicily from the 1900s. From unpaved roads that are flanked by rural villages, to dark catacombs, artistic villas and much more, the distinctive backdrop of the game contains a variety of detailed places – everything overlaps authentically in a unique way that overlaps uniquely unique in this quickly changing time. We had the selection when we decided which visually breathtaking views would serve as a lifelike backdrop for our granular crime drama.

After Enzo, when he climbs into an old cistern, they take a closer look at mafia: the grounded, occurred struggle of the old country in one way of a brutal shop window from Enzos Stiletto blade in action. After Enzo had sent the guard out of tighter, he distracts the next patrolling of the enemy before combining a knife in his neck. He discovered another security guard nearby and hurled his blade and killed him in silence from reach – a moment too late when others are alerted.

Even if the situation breaks out into a tense fire battle, this encounter shows how the Gameplay Stealth connects with weapons masters. Each approach complements the other and creates a scrappier experience. Enzo may have missed two shots, but with the help of his knife and an explosive lantern, he clears the room with only four balls. A core column of mafia: The fighting design of the old country is the idea that “every ball counts” – think twice about relying on your firearms!

Next, a fiery match cut brings us to another franchise basic food: White Knuckle driving. This time, Enzo is behind the bike of a car from the turn of the century and drives down the same rough, unpaved street roads. These vehicles handle the weight and quirks that you would expect from a vintage car, but you can still rely on a lot of exciting driving organizers. In the entire Mafia series, we are always proud to correct our in-game vehicles in order to authentically record the feeling of older cars-and the cars in the old country are no exception.

In another bloody shootout, we double Mafia: the philosophy of the old country “Every Bullet Counts” in a slightly different context. After Enzo has decreased a nearby enemy, he misses his next shot and only stays in his revolver. Instead of loading back, it falls covered and exchanges for a shotgun to get a close -range exchange. With every count of ball, it's not just about looking for ammunition. Sometimes it is aggressive the more intelligent tactical choice – or even significantly significantly for its survival. Mafia veterans will feel at home at adrenaline shootings at adrenaline shootings, and we know that an additional border of the danger of long-term fans of the franchise company is resonance.

And although it is easy to concentrate on the action in this sequence, we don't overlook the incredible backdrop: the magnificent banquet hall of an opera house. This breathtaking scene shows the visual improvements that we have been able to achieve since switching to Unreal Engine 5. With the new tool set, our team was able to fill environments with more than ever before and perfectly complement the game more realistic.

Of course, exciting gunplay and chaues are not limited to feet or driving sequences, the reins on the horse have also to be taken over. The pursuit or fight against enemies on the street can include horses, cars, weapons or a combination of the three – another example of the mafia: The unique backdrop of the old country opens the door to fresh turns about the type of action they know and love.

Finally, the last section shows how Mafia: the old country with a knife fight to a whole new level with one-to-one duels. Inspired by Sicilian knife fight traditions, these deadly encounters in central moments in the history-as Enzo have to fire his life for the Torrisi family. It is a gripping new way for our hero to expose himself to his enemies and make it personally and to deliver the life or death gameplay fans.

There is so much more that I could say about this rich crime drama, but I can hardly give any more details without breaking up the Omertá. This means that they would do good to keep their eyes after further information in the coming weeks.

The team and I can't wait for them to experience Mafia: the old country when it starts on August 8th. The game is now pre -ordered on PlayStation 5.
