How many free things can you score with a marathon medal?

No matter how your marathon works, an undeniable advantage of crossing the finish line, the medal of your finisher is wearing in the city – and to absorb the associated recognition (and free things) that could go hand in hand with it. A London man took this idea and literally ran.

David Hellard Didn't really run the 2025 London Marathon. His wife Claire deed. But the day after the race, he threw her medal around his neck and set off on the streets of London to find out how much free prey he could grab.

In an Instagram video, Hellard documented his self-imposed challenge, which was referred to as “Blag for Swag”-a phrase, which means to evaluate free objects by persuasion or cheek. Over the course of 40 kilometers in London, he set an impressive transport: 20 drinks, seven pizzas, three bathroom bombs, a biscuit, a burger and a Greek salad.

“I handed myself over on my way almost a few times,” admitted Hellard. “It turns out that Peroni is not an ideal medium fluid intake–who knew it?”

Nikes London Marathon Billboard Spark's outrage

Despite the impressive Freebie collection, Hellards stunt raised some eyebrows, especially since he had not clarified in the video that he was not the actual runner. When the commentators praised his “Stamina after the marathon”, he played and replied: “An primarily stomach full of carbohydrates. The marathon was only warming up!”

Nevertheless, Hellard insists that there is no stolen bravery here. He said Walk canadians He completed the London Marathon over a dozen times and saw this as the first year for the giveaways. He said he had consumed everything that was given to him, except a few pizzas he saved to give his wife when he returned home nine hours later. After all, she is the one who led the race.

So if you wonder how many free things you can score with a marathon medal, the answer is: a surprising amount. And apparently you don't even have to drive the race to hit it.
