It is a story that comprises almost half a century and one that we have followed. Our investigative reporter, Robert Arnoldis always at the top of the latest updates when it comes to Houston's deaths. And this morning a great development broke.

Lawyers of 68-year-old Clarence Jordan, who has spent decades in the death cell, are now asking the Texas judicial court to decrease his death sentence. Jordan's case is different from anyone else. As early as 1978, he was convicted of murder of a grocery worker. But his story didn't end there.

  • 1978: Convicted and sentenced to death.

  • 1983: Condemned again after his original judgment had been lifted due to incompetence.

  • 1987: Because of its mental state, the state was allowed to carry out its judgment.

  • 1988 until now: So far, Jordan has had no legal representation.

Lawyers are now fighting to lift his conviction. Why? Due to the serious questions about his competence and a lack of legal representation for decades.

๐Ÿ’ง Houston water invoices under the microscope – the following you need to know ๐Ÿšฐ

If you have followed our KPRC 2 Investigates reports on Houston's water bills, you know that we have been in this story for years, and this week there is a big update.

The members of the city council will vote on the hiring of a consulting company from Charlotte, North Carolina, to take a deep immersion in the city's water tariffs. Why is that important? Since the city lasted a tariff study for the last time in 2019, this led to a five -year interest rate increase with the final rate, with the final increase being locked up for 2026.

If the consultants are approved, Houston's costs are intensively examined and find out whether the current water tariffs are sufficient to cover these expenses. So, do we have a different installment hike? Only time will show it.

Stay on it – we keep you up to date. ๐Ÿ“ฐโœจ
