St. Landry Crime Stopper: Chanterria “Macky” Albert

Detective Mike Hidalgo from the Opelousas police authority returns to Crime Stopper and needs her help in solving a murder in the city of Opelousas.

On April 23, 2024, the police authority from Opelousas replied to shots on the 1100 block of Park Avenue and found several mussel sleeves on site. Officials were then announced that there were two shot victims in a local hospital. Witnesses stated that at the time of the shootout of 30 shots from the area.

The investigation showed that 23-year-old Chanterria “Macky” Albert, a sheriff correction officer of the Sheriff of the St. Landry, died in the incident. Another person was also shot, but was in stable condition.
