Wolf Ranch Community Petitions for the installation of the license plate camera reader to curb crime

Colorado Springs, Colorado (Krdo) – A quarter of Northern Colorado Springs requested that they have better security in their HOA after they have said that they had experienced in terms of crime patterns. The Colorado Springs police said Krdo13 that they saw this crime pattern in the whole city, but sent around fifteen brochures for the establishment of a neighborhood guard for the Wolf Ranch in the past few weeks.

Katlyn Darling, a resident of the Wolfs Ranch, a military -sized and mother of three years, says she had moved to the area because she thought it was safe. Three days ago, on Monday, she says that she caught what sounds like shots on her home cameras.

“It scares me. I don't want my children to be shot,” said Darling.

It was this incident that finally prompted her to take action. The Wolf Ranch Hoa calls on its petition, which now received around 300 signatures, to add private security, reader reader cameras and floodlights to the brand new neighborhood.

“I don't know it should be a beautiful neighborhood,” said Darling. “I thought what were you [the HOA] Certainly do? Because I can do that immediately [impact.] So I try to do what I can do immediately. ”

The HOA announced Krdo13 that you have added the security concerns to your next meeting agenda, which will take place at the end of the month. However, you have not yet approved the new cameras (reader cameras) or other additional security measures.

An LPR camera can connect directly to the CSPD technology, so that officers in real-time material on the streets in which cameras are placed are made possible in real-time material. When a car has been stolen and the LPR camera recognizes the license plate, the technology sends a notification of the presence and place of the car.

The Colorado Springs police say that it is a good idea to block doors and windows in houses and vehicles from 9 p.m. and organize a neighborhood clock that can communicate directly with CSPD. Affected residents can also register their home cameras at CSPD and give them more cooperation with detectives who work on combating these crime patterns.
