Christian Black's death is still examined; What could come next

Montgomery County, Ohio (Wkef) – On Monday, May 5th, Christian Black's last interactions with prison officers in the Montgomery County prison saw before he died. The forensic doctor ruled his death as a murder. The examination continues, so that Dayton has asked the Montgomery County public prosecutor around the clock around the clock what could come next.

Prosecutor reacted to the situation for the first time.

“My sympathy goes to the family of this young man, who lost his life in prison.

More video has been released since Monday. The public has now seen Body cam video.

The Dayton Police Department (DPD) is now taking care of the investigation.

Rob Streck, Sheriff of Montgomery County, asked this agency to take on this.

A lawyer of the black family commented on Monday during a press conference whether DPD is the agency to carry out the examination.

“I think the right place where it went [the] Dayton Police Department, “said Anthony Pierson, a lawyer of Pierson and Pierson, LLC.

The Montgomery County public prosecutor has close relationships with both the DPD and the Sheriff's Office. Therefore, the public prosecutor was asked what would happen after the investigation.

Who will DPD give to?

“You will usually come to my office and ask you to submit it for possible crimes,” said prosecutor Heck. “Every time there is a police -related police measure in which someone loses his life, we generally refer this to a special lawyer who will check this and then make your own decision.”

Prosecutor Heck said he decided in which district his office can take over the case, but this district decides what lawyers and employees will work on the case.

He was also asked whether his office would have participation afterwards if this scenario took place.

“We hand over it to the special prosecutor. They work on the case. They meet with the witnesses. They meet with the police authority. They make the decisions and we support them in any way,” said prosecutor Heck.

Dayton around the clock will continue to follow the developments in the investigation and possible legal steps.
