Anthony Edwards leaves game 2 with the left sprain, returns in the 2nd half

Anthony Edwards was helped in the changing room in the second quarter, with the coaches preventing him from putting weight on his left ankle.

Minneapolis (AP) -Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards left Golden State on Thursday with a bricked-up left ankle in the middle of the second quarter before returning for the second half of the second round of her second round.

Edwards tried to end a quick break with a layup that Warriors Center Trayce Jackson-Davis blocked before landing on Edwards' left foot when both came down.

Edwards immediately reached for his ankle as he was sitting on the floor under the basket. He was finally helped from the square to the changing room after Draymond Green came over Golden State to look at him.

Edwards seriously injured several times in his career while he was on the square, only to come back later in the game after the treatment. That also looked bad, and the Timberwolves went so far to make his return status known as questionable. But he jumped back and had the crowd roared when he appeared for warm -ups shortly before the beginning of the second half.

The 23-year-old Edwards, a three-time all-star who was fourth in the regular season in the NBA, had seven points in the first half at 2: 7.

The Warriors played without Stephen Curry because of a tense left armpit that appeared in game 1.
