Feure crash on transmountain road renewal requires safety improvements

A fiery crash on the Transmountain Road demanded a life and injured several others, which renewed the concerns about the security of the area.

This incident is the latest in a number of accidents on the street where trucks ran off the street, catching fire over the years, catching fire or causing large wrecks.

On April 14, 2021, a cement beard rolled over and crashed at the same intersection, which led to a dramatic accident in front of the camera.

El Paso's police believed that the driver had mechanical problems with his brakes.

In October 2023, another rollover crash at the intersection included a half-swallow, which sent six people to the hospital, which the fire brigade from El Paso described as a mass accident event.

The investigators said the semi-trick driver lost control and flown over a barrier before landing on the i-10.

After these incidents, the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) announced plans to build a second ramp on the Transmountain Road.

The new ramp would use a dragnet system, a network that has stopped a truck without causing serious damage.

A TXDOT spokesman said: “The project left at the beginning of this month and takes the approval of the Texas Transportation Commission. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2026.”

The new ramp would enable trucks to go out of the left lane and to guide them to the median between the two sides of the Transmountain Road.
