Trump points out that tariffs can fall in China if the conversations are supposed to start

US President Donald Trump has indicated that US tariffs for goods from China are reduced as top retailers from the two largest economies in the world.

“You can't get a higher higher one.

Trump made the comments during an event to present a tariff with Great Britain – the first such agreement since he made countries all over the world with steep taxes in April.

The meeting in Switzerland this weekend is the strongest signal that the two sides are willing to decalate a trade war that has sent shock waves through the financial markets.

“I think it's a very friendly meeting. You are looking forward to doing it elegantly,” Trump said about the conversations with China.

China also made a confident note about the conversations.

Hua Chunying, deputy foreign minister, said Beijing had “full trust” in his ability to manage trade problems with the United States.

The announcement at the beginning of this week of the talks was welcomed as an important first step to loosen tensions, but analysts warned that this is the beginning of the probably long negotiations.

“The systemic friction between the United States and China will not be solved soon,” said former US trade negotiator Stephen Olson.

All cuts to tariffs as a result of this meeting should be “low”, he added.

The first negotiations are headed by the US Finance Minister Scott Bessent and China's deputy and economic tsar.

“I think everyone realizes that a final business will require the active commitment of both presidents,” said Olson.

Another trading expert said that the two countries would still have important problems even if the new new tariffs raised by Trump were lifted.

“A realistic goal is probably a withdrawal from the bilateral types of heaven, but that would still take high tariff barriers and various other restrictions,” Eswar Prasad, the former head of the China department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) China, told BBC News.

The talks between China and the USA will only take place two days after the first country, which held a tariff with the Trump administration.

The United States has agreed to reduce import taxes for a fixed number of British cars and to enable some steel and aluminum to be freezed in the country of reinforcement as part of a new agreement.

It also offers relief for other important British industries of some of the new tariffs that Trump has announced since its inauguration in January.

Countries all over the world strive to achieve similar offers before the steep US import taxes come into force next month.

Trump announced how he described “Mutual tariffs” in dozens of countries in April, but shortly afterwards she paused for 90 days to give her governments time to negotiate with his administration.
