The Celina Star Cafe offers traditional, trendy fare

The Celina Star Cafe offers café booklets such as pancakes and eggs together with other favorites.

These are just a few of the Staples Driton “Toni” Mehmedi, co -owner of the Celina Star Cafe, said in restaurants that his parents had and were operated in Illinois.

DRITON Mehmedi opened the Celina Star Cafe with his parents Sami and Anna Mehmedi in 2017.

On the menu

The breakfast menu offers a variety of options, including cookies and sauce, omelets, waffles, filled French toast and crepes.

“You want classics – regular eggs, hash browns, bacon – that have,” said Driton Mehmedi. “At home you just do French toast, here we stuff it with our own sweet cream cheese.”

The lunch break includes short ribs, cheeseburger wrap, chicken bacon ranch panini and chicken -fried steak.

“I named a burger after my sister, 'Rinas', said Driton Mehmedi.” It has onions, Jalapenos, Swiss cheese, avocado and bacon. “

Thriton Mehmedi said there was an appeal to dine as a family.

“It's nice to cook at home, but it's just easier to go out and eat,” he said. “You get what you want and your whole family can get something else.”

Go forward

The construction is in progress when a brunch -spot DRITON Mehmedi is opened with his uncle in the new retail development in which Costco is built in Celina. Thriton Mehmedi said the preliminary name of this restaurant was the Brunch factory, which he would like to open next summer.

The effect

The Mehmedis are inhabitants of Celina and enjoy social interactions with the community.

“Every time I go to an event in downtown Celina, everyone knows me,” said Driton Mehmedi. “We had a fundraising campaign for the police and many business owners were there. So many people said:” Oh, they own the café. We love it. “I just feel good.”
