Warrior's Sputter, Kerr Tinkers and Green explode. Can win Golden State?

play

The Minnesota Timberwolves did what they had to do. They defeated the Golden State Warriors 117-93 on Thursday in game 2 and connected the semi-finals of the Western Conference 1-1.

The Timberwolves also seemed to have avoided a problematic injury to all-star Anthony Edwards, who waxed his ankle in the second quarter when it was questioned, but started the third quarter and played normal minutes.

Can the Warriors be the series for Games 3-4 to be relocated to San Francisco, what they have to do and find a way to extend the series until Steph Curry can return from the left Oberstrasse he suffered in game 1?

It will be difficult for Golden State to beat Minnesota without a curry, and the schedule for his return-based work 10 days that he could be back for game 5 on Wednesday, May 14th. The Warriors said that he would be re -evaluated on Wednesday. If the Warriors can win one of the next three games, there will be a long break before game 6 on Sunday, May 18, which gives Curry more time to heal.

Game 3 is Saturday (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC).

Here are the winners and losers from game 2 by Warriors-Temberwolves:

Warriors-Temberwolves Game 2-winner

Julius Randle

Randle had a quiet game 1 offensive and reacted in game 2 with 24 points (10-against-17 shooting), 11 assists and seven rebounds.

He was an overlooked part of the trade with Karl-Anthony Town, who sent cities to New York and Randle to Minnesota. But it is an essential part of the success of the Timberwolves. In the last four games, he scored at least 22 points against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

“If he plays like this, we are difficult to beat,” said Edwards.

Randle has a player option in the last season of his business in 2025-26. He can either be a free agent in summer or conclude the contract next season with $ 30.9 million. At some point the Timberwolves have to decide what they are ready to pay him.

Steve Kerr's line -up tinkers

The Warriors trainer Steve Kerr added the fifth post with Curry Out to the starting line -up. That didn't give in. Post only played three minutes and did not count. But Kerr also went deep into his bank to see who could deliver serving minutes.

Jonathan Kuminga, who had fallen out of the rotation and had not played in four of the seven games in the first round against Houston, scored 18 points, and Trayce Jackson-Davis had 15 points. They were a combined 14-by-17 from the field.

“We have to find out what we can do in this series without Steph,” said Kerr. “Many people have given many opportunities. We have learned a lot and this game will help us find out how we can go forward.”

They fought defensively without a curry, but Kerr took the opportunity to take care. Let's see what he can think of in game 3.

Minnesotas Bank

Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 20 points, Naz Reid had 11 points and five assists and Donte Divincenzo nine points and five assists from the bank. They were a combined 10-on-22-on 3 pointer.

Anthony Edwards

Edwards gave the Timberwolves, their fans and everyone who wants to see healthy players on the pitch, a fear of the bricked up ankle. Edwards ended with 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals and said that after the game, the ankle feels great.

Injuries continue to play a role in the playoffs. The Cleveland Cavaliers were without Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and De'andre Hunter in their defeat in game 2 against the Indiana Pacers, and Curry's injury has a significant impact on this series.

Warriors-Temberwolves Game 2 Losers

Offensive of the golden state

Without a curry, the warrior's crime stuttered. Curry lets this machine go and it makes sense that you would have problems in a game that he didn't play. He opens the floor with its 3-point shooting and makes it easier for his teammates to score a goal. You have to fix that.

Draymond Green only had nine points with 3-against-10 rotary work, Brandin Podziemski was 1: 4 on 3S and the Warriors were 9: 32 to 3-28.1%.

Draymond Green

Green collected his fifth technical foul in the playoffs and two more earn him a one-game lock. If Curry fails, the Warriors cannot afford to miss green because of a suspension.

After Reid had received the technical foul for an unintentional forearm in Reid's head, Green insulted the officials and was close to another technology. Curry and Jackson-Davis intervened and tried to calm green so that it was not ejected.

“It's part of Draymond,” said Kerr. “The same thing that makes him a competitor and a winner sometimes exaggerated him. We know that, and it is our job to help him help him to stay balanced, to stay composed. But the competition is occasionally so important for him that it occasionally goes over the line.”
