Fire weather watch exhibited for a large part of Minnesota

Undated (Wjon News) – The National Weather Service says that it will be cooler and comfortable, followed by hot, dry and windy conditions in the beginning of next week.

The conditions are cheap for a quick fire spread.

Southwest winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts of up to 35 miles per hour.

All fires that develop will probably spread quickly. Burning outdoors is not recommended.

Since April 1, more than 475 forest fires have been reported to the Minnesota DNR. Leanne Langeberg From the Interagency Fire Center, the recent sunny, warm weather says the fire risk in parts of the state:

“The plants of the last year have dried out in winter and they have no ability to really keep some kind of moisture. So they are ready for a running fire.

She says that campfires should not have larger than three feet under these conditions and a diameter of three feet.
