Rent Enten Joel Quenneville as a coach in his NHL return

The Anaheim Ducks stopped Joel Quenneville as her new trainer, the team said on Thursday.

“This is the organization with which I wanted to restart my career, and I'm really grateful for this opportunity,” said Quenneville in an explanation. “The ducks have incredible possessions, management and passionate fans. In almost four years of the game, I learned from my previous mistakes and found that these are actions about words that show my commitment to a better leader.”

Quenneville has not been in the NHL since 2021, after he resigned as Florida Pantherscoach when the examination of THECHICAGO Blackhawks. In an independent report by a law firm in October 2021 it was found out how the Blackhawks organization did not correctly address the player's allegation that he was sexually attacked by the Video coach Brad Aldrich in 2010 during the 2010 Stanley Cup run.

The league found that the then coach Quenneville, the then general manager Stan Bowman and the then executive Al Macisaac did not work for other NHL teams, and the Blackhawks were occupied with a fine of $ 2 million for inappropriate guidelines. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman raised this ban in July 2024, with the league “sincere remorse” of the three men finding the allegations because of their “unacceptable” response. Bowman has since been discontinued as General Manager of Edmonton Oilers.

In the past few weeks, the ducks have seen a comprehensive view of Quenneville's role and spoke to interest groups with which he had established relationships. “In the past two weeks, we have conducted interviews with many outstanding coaching candidates and at the same time conducted a comprehensive review of what took place, while Joel in 2010 was head coach of the Blackhawks,” said GM Pat Verbbeek in a statement. “We spoke to dozens of people, including supporters of the positive change in hockey and the leadership of the NHL, which Joel officially frozen last July. Our results agree with Joels report that he was not fully aware. Coaching.”

Anaheim searched for a trainer after firing Greg Cronin after his second season. Despite an improvement of 21 points in 2024-25, the Ducks no longer reached the playoffs in seven seasons.

Sources said David Carle had a long two -day interview with the ducks before he said goodbye to Denver University. The ducks turned to Mike Sullivan, but never interviewed him when the coach of Longimepittsburgh Penguins chose the New York Rangers. Sources said that Jay Woodcroft and Rick Tocchet were the other two candidates who were remaining when the ducks hired quenneville.

Quenneville, 66, took second place in the NHL with 969 victories of the regular season with Thecolorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, Blackhawks and Panthers. Quenneville led Chicago to three Stanley Cups.br/]
