Pacers benefit from two missed calls against Cavs

A day after the breathtaking comeback victory of the Pacers against the Cavaliers in the second game of the semi -finals of the Eastern Conference, the NBA published the last two minute (L2m) report on the game.

Three false/missed calls were listed. And two of them are quite remarkable – especially if they are a Cleveland fan.

The Aaron Nesmith Putback Jam? Should not have counted.

How about Tyrese Haliburton, who received his own free throw from his missed free throw, which led to his 3 pointer suitable with playful 3 pointers? Should not have counted.

As impressive as the Nesmith Putback, which was a missed Pascal Siakam free throw, Nesmith entered the 3-point line before Siakam let go of the ball and gave him a top start on the rebound and putback. Cleveland's Ty Jerome also switched on early. So the call should not be a basket with a jumping ball in the mid -court. Nesmiths Slam brought the Pacers to 47.2 seconds after five points (119-114) within five points.

Then, 12 seconds ahead and Haliburton, the second of two free throws and the Pacers 119-117, Haliburton corrected a rebound after Myles Turner could tip it away from Cleveland's defenders. Haliburton then dribbled out the ball and drilled a 3 on the key with a 1.1 second lead. The L2M of the NBA says: “Several players enter the trail and cross the 3-point line before the ball is released for the free throw, and the shooter rises via the aircraft of the free-wing line before the ball touches the edge. The call should have been made and a jumping ball in the mid-court was kept.”

And none of it says that the Pacers shouldn't win the game. In theory, they would have won both diving balls and still achieved. But…

The other missed call was on Donovan Mitchell on a defensive defensive for Donovan Mitchell, which was not mentioned, without actively protecting an opponent in the 15-second mark for more than three seconds. Ty Jerome would soon practice Haliburton, which led to the above -mentioned free throws.

The L2M also confirmed that the common foul names fouls on the square, but no flagrant for Mitchell's vibrating elbow on Nesmith with a 46 second lead.
