San Antonio Motorcycle Community Members who were killed in the crash by Kerr County

SAN ANTONIO – A local self -help group and non -profit organization from San Antonio, the fallen drivers, is preparing to help Kerr County as a funeral.

At the beginning of this month, three members of the Cortez family were hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver on their motorcycles.

The soldiers of the Texas Ministry of Public Security had reacted to the accident with four vehicles shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, on the State Highway 27 at the Bluff Creek.

A gray Toyota SUV drove east on the State Highway 27 when he crossed the way western direction and hit three motorcycles frontally, said DPS.

The drivers of the motorcycles Courtney Cortez, 25, Cody Cortez (34) and Daniel Cortez Jr. (57) became at the scene, said DPS. A passenger on one of the motorcycles was flown to a medical facility in San Antonio.

Jeanette Reyes, a motorcyclist, said she had formed fallen drivers after losing her loved ones on her bicycles.

Riders are focused on the provision of resources, funeral processes, volunteers and connections to other families who have undergone the same loss.

“I think overall it is a shock for everyone, isn't it as if you can plan it as someone who may have an incurable illness or anything,” said Reyes. “So it's just a very fast roller coaster from emotions. And sometimes you only need someone to help navigate through some of them.”

Falls Riders is preparing to help with a funeral service service for the next week of the Cortez. They encourage all drivers in San Antonio who want to take part with them on a trip from the city to Kerrville.

Reyes says she continues to plan other families who have also lost a loved one on a bike, at the same time offer new drivers proactive information and connect them to a community that is looking for their well -being.

“You just never know that you have to be prepared for it, and it doesn't matter whether the driver was to blame or not. The point is that it happened. Despite the event, the pain is that it will still harm it.”
