Benjamin Harrison Bridge damaged in the crash

Prince George, va. (Wwbt) – Benjamin Harrison Bridge was damaged in an accident early Friday morning.

“On arrival, the units found a pickup that had gone through part of the bridge barrier after collapsing with the bridge side,” said Prince George Fire & Ems.

The bridge was closed from around 2 a.m. to 8 a.m., while the Virginia transport team had completed repairs.

There is currently no information about what caused the crash. Prince George Fire & Ems says someone was injured, but did not state the severity of the injury.

“Incidents like this underline the risks associated with increased and high-speed roads-especially the potential for serious results near water transitions,” said Prince George Fire & Ems.
