NBA Cap Guru suggests a possible reunification between Spurs and the beloved former players

The NBA captain Keith Smith wrote a preview of the SAS -OffSeason about the SAS, in which he mentions some options for Backup Point Guard for the San Antonio Spurs if Chris Paul does not return, and Tre Jones made the list. Jones was traded as part of a three-way deal to Chicago, which Zach Lavine sent to Sacramento, and brought De'aaron Fox into 210.

Now that the Bulls season is over, the former Spurs -Backup is a free agent and has the right to sign in every team of his choice. Jones led himself like a real specialist as a member of silver and black. The fans loved him and overall he was positive in the changing room because all of his teammates loved him. But this chapter is closed and San Antonio would be wrong to reopen it.

Tre Jones is not who the Spurs must run the second unit

Jones was a solid guard for silver and black, but he was not a big impact player. They may have a look at his statistics during his short stay with Chicago and see that he increased his production to 11 points per game and scored 50% from three shot to 50%, but the sample size was far too small.

The former Blue Devil only played 18 games for Chi-Town with an average of 25 minutes per night-one increase compared to the 18, which he had on average with San Antonio. In contrast to three, he also made eight shots per game for the Spurs. But he won't get 25 minutes if he comes back to SA. The bulls had injury and depth problems, not to mention a lack of real option number one to master additional recordings.

Victor Wembanyama is not just a star in Alamo City, he is a heavenly being. As selfless he is, Wembanyama will always take a large part of the field goals, the attempted cake; A large part of the rest goes to De'aaron Fox and Stephon Castle. Everyone else has to get in where they fit, and sometimes it means that not everyone gets the chance to shoot the ball at will.

He can run a second unit pretty well without taking a few shots, but it brings nothing special on the table. He ended the season as a 40% three-point shooter, but that is due to the law of average. This 50% number he met in Chicago ran to 1.2 shots per game, and as I already mentioned, he only played 18 games there.

In the 28 games he played in San Antonio this season, he shot 30%, so he is not a reliable shooter. He is also not a special passer -by. Jones is a solid defender, but by no means something special, mainly because of its lack of size and average sportiness.

His brother Tyus made Keith Smith's list and although he is not much larger than his brother, he is at least a sniper. Tyus Jones is a career of 37% three -point shooter and shot 41% in the last two seasons. Smith mentioned a few other names like Monte Morris and Cam Payne, but I don't love any of these options.

If the market for backup point guards is so porous, you can be more suitable for convincing Chris Paul or fears someone like Jeremiah if you can get it in your hands, but it will be difficult. The fears are expected to be quite high in the draft, and the Spurs primarily need a pure protect.

Brian Wright will have his work cut out for him to make the most important positions for the playoff push from the next year, but there are options out there. There is almost always. He could even find a way to take a trade, not see the fans come. The assets are there. What he shouldn't do is to bring Tre Jones back. Was there that done.
