Fire Weather Watch for 61 counties exhibited this weekend – the Kittson County Enterprise

The fire risk is high in the entire state. This weekend it is predicted that low humidity and wind create almost critical fire weather conditions and contribute to an increased risk of fire on Saturday and Sunday. Under these conditions, each spark can begin a running fire that spreads quickly and gets out of control.

All outdoor burns are discouraged. The DNR will not spend any permits for the open burning of brushes or garden waste in areas with existing spring incineration restrictions or if a warning for red flags is in force.

Play it safe

Use caution and monitor the conditions all weekend.

Each heat source could trigger a forest fire. Remember:

  • Make sure the trailer chains are attached and are from the floor so that you do not pull and throw sparks.
  • Park on gravel or pavement if possible. Hot motors and exhaust systems can start dry grass on fire.
  • When the work in their plans is in the plans, they remain vigilant. Tractors, lawnmowers, weeds and other devices generate enough heat to sparkle dry leaves or grass.
  • If you enjoy a coastal meal, keep your fire small, not big. Always pay attention to your fire and make sure it is cold before you go. Pour a lot of water onto the fire and stir. Feel with the back of the hand. If it is too hot to touch her, it's too hot to go. If you drown all embers with water again, not only with the red until the hissing noise stops.

Red flag warnings continue to develop situations. Visit the National Weather Service (Weather.gov) for updates.
