“Whole body, complete episodes, from 'Conan O'Brien needs a friend', Monday.

Previously, Team Coco published 10-15 minutes of clips from “Conan O'Brien Need a Friend” on YouTube, so that much of the content was never made to the video. Adam Sachs, Senior VP of podcast content from Siriusxm, believes that the setting of video episodes will strengthen engagement and monetization options in full length.

Sachs noticed that YouTube was brought out as a top platform for the Podcast consumption and has now had 1 billion monthly viewers of Podcast content. Today “podcasts are observed on the couch,” he said.

Sachs was previously President of Team Coco until his takeover of SiriusxM 2022 for $ 150 million. When Team Coco started the podcast in 2018, “we said: 'This is very separate from [O’Brien’s] TBS show. 'We were almost precious about the fact that there would be no cameras in the studio – the idea was that it was an intimate organic conversation. “O'Briens TBS-Show ended in 2021. Sachs' joke with O'Brien is that the podcast was only” a back door for a new late night show “.

Team Coco previously tested two complete video episodes from O'Briens Podcast with positive results. The 2024 show with Larry David as a guest has gained 2.2 million views so far, and another with Harrison Ford has 1.2 million prospects. In the meantime, other Siriusxm podcasts for the video episodes are published on YouTube, “where everyone knows their name” with Ted Danson and “Literally! With Rob Lowe”.

The expansion of “Conan O'Brien needs a friend” on YouTube, since O'Brien has recaptured a new presence in the zeitgeist. He organized the 2025 Oscars for critical recognition (and secured a renewal for the appearance next year) and held a viral approach with the Mark Twain Prize for the American humor (which was premiered this week on Netflix). And season 2 of his celebrated Max Travel series “Conan O'Brien must go”, premiere on May 8th.

“Conan has a moment,” said Sachs.

With the higher visibility of O'Brien recently “Conan O'Brien needs a friend” in the fourth quarter of 2024 to 18th place on the best podcasts charts by Edison Research.

At the moment, Team Coco is only distributing the full video episodes of the show on YouTube. It is worth noting that Spotify has strengthened his efforts to attract video podcasts. “YouTube has been a presence for us for a long time,” said Sachs. He also said that finding content on the platform was very good – half of the views of Team Coco's YouTube channel had been powered by the algorithm.

With “Conan O'Brien needs a friend,” said Sachs. For example, if O'Brien reads the news of a sponsor, the show can now show the product on the table in front of him. Team Coco is also looking for the sale of presentation sponsorship with a visual placement in the studio.

Team Coco's YouTube channel started as a channel for clips to advertise the TBS Late Night Show. This strategy developed so well, “it became a business of its own,” said Sachs. “When we did the podcast, clips made the most sense. That was our standard setting so far.” Now that Team Coco has more than 9 million subscribers on YouTube, the team came to the conclusion that it feels stupid not to put the podcast on video.

Team Coco publishes as part of the new season of Max 'Conan O'Brien Must Go “Bonus episodes in the” Conaf “feed, which repeats the first three episodes of the travel show. These will be published on May 8, 15 and 22 and 22 and replace the usual Thursday “Conan O'Brien needs a fan” episodes during these weeks.
