A remote sculpture garden underlines the beauty of Argyll and Bute

The design of a sculpture park is almost as important as the art in it. The most successful are those who make a spatial and emotional journey on which art communicates with nature and promptly prompted visitors to do the same. The Caol Ruadh sculpture park goes beyond the concept of a park. The outdoor gallery near Colintraive on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll comprises 18 hectares of landscape gardens and positions each piece in a Bukolian view of Loch Riddon, the Kyles from Bute and the surrounding hills. In the middle is the striking red-brick stack of Caol Ruadh House from 1898.

The owner, Potter Karen Scotland, opened the site for the public for the first time in 2012 and has shaped a two -month shop window of Scottish art over every beauty point. This year's exhibition shows works by Janice Affleck, Tom Allan, Sara Cunningham Bell, Helen Denerley, Guy Elder and many others.

“All works of art and installations will buy,” says Scotland, and we will also organize a number of weekend workshops in which prospective artists can learn from the experts. “

The garden is accessible to the public from May 2 to June 29, Thursday to Sunday. From May 16 to May 18, Bristol-based sculptor Lucianne Lassalle will operate a portrait workshop. The ceramic artists Moira Ferguson and Bill Williamson also plan workshops. And on the last day of the exhibition, Scotland organizes a workshop for the production of clays called Tone of the stories With sculptor Louise Mcvey and storytelling by Selina Graham.
