New York Knicks Championship Wins & NBA Finals History

The New York Knicks are one of the leading franchise companies in the history of the NBA, although they have not yet had the success of the championship as teams like the Boston Celtics or Los Angeles Lakers.

The Knicks have not won a NBA championship since 1973. The 52 seasons since this title are one of the longest drought in the NBA behind the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clipper. And it has probably felt just as long since her last trip to the NBA final.

The last title for Orange and Blue came in 1973.

The New York Knicks joined the NBA in 1949. Under the direction of Hall of Famers Dick McGuire and Harry Gallatin, they lost three NBA final from 1951 to 1953 when they lost twice against George Mikan's Los Angeles Lakers.

In 1951 she lost to the Rochester Royals, who were led by the Hall of Famers Arnie Risen and Bob Davies. The Royals also showed a point Guard called Red Holzman.

Holzman would finally do the Hall of Fame himself after turning the Knicks into competitors as head coach at the end of the 1960s.

The Knicks won their first NBA championship in the NBA final of 1970. After Willis Reed Game 6 of the series missed an injury, he helped his team to win Los Angeles Lakers in game 7 and scored his first two games of the game.

Three years later, the Knicks won again in a final fight against the Lakers. Under the direction of Holzman, Reed, Walt Frazier and the future New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley, the Knicks Jerry West and the Lakers defeated in five games.

The Knicks have not won a title since then.

The Knicks have not been in the NBA final since 1999. They have not been in the conference final since 2000 when they lost to the Indiana Pacers, Reggie Miller, Jalen Rose and head coach Larry Bird. After they have not been in the final of the conference for a quarter of a century, they have the longest drought in the NBA behind the Washington Wizards (46 years) and Charlotte Hornets, who have never been in 37 years.

The last NBA final of the Knicks was the Lockout-Shortationed 1998-1999 in the season. The Knicks went 27-23 and ended a game in front of the Charlotte Hornets for seed No. 8 in the Eastern Conference. This Knicks team was led by Latrell Sprwell, Allan Houston, Patrick Ewing and Larry Johnson. Ewing went with an injury during the conference final and the team rose to the final for the first time since the draft. Ewing theory was born.

It is also worth mentioning that Rick Brunson appeared in Knick in nine games in nine games in nine games in nine. His son Jalen was two years old at the time.

The New York Knicks played in the eight NBA final and won two. You tie these two titles with the Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks for the ninth time ever.
