The Anaheim of Ducks welcomed Joel Quenneville back to the NHL, with the hope that he can bring his profit paths to the west coast. Although Quenneville's legacy is one of the most successful head coach in NHL history, he was permanently spoiled when he was involved in the sex abuse scandal of Chicago Blackhawks from 2010.

The former Blackhawks striker Kyle Beach was sexually attacked by the former video coach Brad Aldrich during the 2010 Stanley Cup run in 2010. Quenneville and the former general manager Stan Bowman were among those who did not report the attack in time.

According to Beach, there was “absolutely no way” that Quenneville was not aware of the abuse. The NHL banned Quenneville, Bowman and Al Macisaac from working in the league, but stopped them again last year. Bowman started working with the Edmonton Oilers before the 2024-25 season, and now Quenneville is driving to Anaheim to lead the ducks.

According to the announcement of the ducks, lawyers published John Doe/Black Ace 1 during the procedure for sexual abuse, an explanation of the cessation of Quenneville.

“We are deeply worried to hear this week from the attitude of Coach Q by another NHL team, despite his complicity in the Blackhawks clubhouse, about the sexual abuse of a player and now active legal disputes about another player by another player,” says the explanation. “The leadership, which was expected from a head coach and the decency who is expected as a person, should have made him protect these players at all costs. We hope and expect his new team to keep him and the entire management team the highest behavioral standards and do not victim to win.”

According to the Ducks, they carried out their own review of Quenneville and the Blackhawks examination in 2010. In a publication of the ducks, they said they had spoken to numerous people to ensure that this was the right attitude for them.

“In the past two weeks we have conducted interviews with many outstanding coaching candidates, while at the same time we carried out a comprehensive review of what took place while Joel was head coach of the Blackhawks. At this point, deeply regretted to observe further questions, to make a meaningful personal growth and accountability and to have the opportunity to return to coaching.

Quenneville had a resume in Hall of Fame before they were brought to light. With a record record of 969-572-77-150 with 25 experience in experience, he has accumulated the second most common victories of a coach in NHL history.
