Dylan Cease offers a large update for injuries after the Padres game has been left early

If the San Diego Padres intends to set Dylan to the injured list, you only have to officially make the decision on Friday. Thanks to the off-day on Thursday, Cease can take the time to update the team about the status of his right forearm.

When the forearm in the seventh in the game on Wednesday against the New York Yankees -minutes after Cease allowed his first goal of the game -Mike Shildt, Padres manager Mike Shildt was on the side of caution and removed his starting mug.

In six innings, Cease had not allowed a hit on the mighty installation of the Yankees when Cody Bellinger smoked a solo homerun to the right field in seventh place and brought the game 1-1 together.

Jason Adam took over for Cease and got the final out of the seventh inning to keep the 1-1 point number. New York won in his last bat in the 10th Inning.

Although Cease had lost the last line against the Yankees, he was impressive: 6.2 Innerings, a goal and a run allowed, together with two walks and nine strikes.

The greater concern was the health of ceas, but based on his own self -assessment, he will be able to start his next start. In his career, Cease has never been on the injured list for a soft or hard tissue injury. His only IL stint was in 2021 in response to a possible COVID 19 exposure.

“We carried out all tests,” Cease told reporters on Wednesday. “I mean, nothing hurts or hurt or something. It was just, my hand was locked up for a few seconds and let go.”

In eight starts this season, Cease 1-2 with an ERA of 4.91. After he had only approved 137 hits in 189.1 Innerings in 2024 – Cease's first season with the Padres – he approved 40 hits in 40.1 Innerings this year.
