Seven “Bank Jugging” rules in Maryland, which have robbed 34 victims with a weapon held

BALTIMORE -Meneral Prosecutor Anthony G. Brown announced the charges against seven defendants due to several charges, including participation in a criminal gang, an attempted murder, armed carjacking, robbery, assault and firearms. These far -reaching crimes are said to have taken place from August 2023 to July 2024 in Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Howard, Charles and Montgomery Counties. The Navy Federal Credit Union, the Bank of America, Capitol One and Wells Fargo were among the bank institutions targeted by the accused.

The people are said to be part of two separate criminal organizations that operated similarly. The first group was between August 2023 and January 2024 for 20 robberies and tried robberies. After the local police and federal agents intervened and arrested members of the first organization, a second organization appeared and was responsible for 14 robberies and tried between May 2024 and July 2024.

“For almost a year, for almost a year, and traumatized Marylander, who only tried to do simple care and take money out of the bank, terrorized and terrorized and traumatized marked Marylander.” Attorney General Brown said. “These accusations demonstrate the commitment of our office to reduce violent criminal rings, protect maryish and do everything in our power to make Maryland a safe place to live, work and play.”

The examination of the criminal organization was led by the office for alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives (ATF) and the organized crime department of the Office of the General Prosecutor (OAG) and, after the investigators noticed a pattern of victims that victims were robbed in parking spaces with careful parking spaces.

The main goal of the group was to rob victims who had recently left a bank or ATM, a practice known as a “banking big”. The investigation showed that in the event of a typical robbery, which the accused committed, it would identify a victim that leaves a bank, approaching the victim, judging a firearm on the victim or attacking it in other ways.

From October 2023, members and employees of the criminal organization primarily started the victims when they arrived in other less secure business or living environments. During an instance in October 2023, the robbers intentionally used their vehicle to collide in a victim's vehicle so that the victim started. Members and employees of the criminal organization then robbed the victim of their personal property.

Seven accused in Maryland

What this group separated from others was the extent of violence and the fact that the criminal organization was willing to shoot at or near victims in order to force them to meet their demands. During the inspection of a robbery to force the victim to give up their property, a member of the criminal organization replaced a firearm several times. On two occasions, a member of the criminal organization fired the pistol against the victim when they tried to flee.

The group's tactics developed easily over time. First, the group would rob the victims when they left the bank, usually in the parking lot when the victim entered her car. The group later started the victims' cars when they left the banks. The group would rob the victim if they stopped at their house or in another shop.

The investigation showed that the organization for at least 20 armed robberies and tried robberies, two attempted murders and other crimes associated with it. The investigation also showed that members of the organization are often equipped with handguns with high capacity magazines and machine gun conversion devices. The hand-fired modifications, which were known as “Glock switches” by members of the criminal organization, also converted the normally semi-automatic handguns into fully automatic machine guns.

Until January 2024, accusations were charged against some members of the organization and the robberies were stopped. In May 2024, however, a second group appeared and began to celebrate similar “bankjuggings” in Maryland.

This second group is also said to have specifically attacked people who recently left a bank and used handguns and threats to force to force the victims to give their money and other property. The group often pointed firearms on the victims, often on the head, and demanded money. On several occasions, members of the group threatened to shoot or kill the victim. Once the group attacked the victim by beating the victim and struck the victim with her weapons. On another occasion, a member of the group put the victim in a choke pit during the robbery.
