How cats of Great Britain's favorite pet were -thanks to celebrity owners from Taylor Swift to Katy Perry

According to a new study, cats have overtaken dogs as the UK's favorite pet, which they show on social media.

House Cats saw popularity after Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran started publishing photos of their cat -like friends online.

Jollyes, the largest pet dealer in Great Britain, claims that it has an enormous increase in cat -related purchases.

It is predicted that the current growth rate will be more cats than dogs within two years.

Around 13.5 million dogs are in possession of 36 percent of households, while 12.5 million cats belong to 29 percent.

According to Jollyes, the transactions for its cat products in its 100 shops are a third higher than those of goods for dogs.

They said the demand rose for the first time 18 months ago when famous cat owners such as Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry are driving the trend among consumers.

Ms. Swift, 35, which is probably the most famous cat lady in the world, has two Scottish folds and a Ragdoll and regularly shares pictures of them on their 280 million Instagram followers.

Her Scottish Fold -Olivia Benson, who is named in honor of the protagonists in the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, even played in her music videos for Blank Space and Karama. She also performed in television advertising for Diet Coke and AT&T.

According to Jollyes, young people prefer the personality of cats and see dogs as too high maintenance.

It is said that ownership between 18 to 34-year-olds has increased “dramatically” in recent years, and 41 percent of generation Z shared a property with at least one cat.

Daniel Warren-Cummings, behavioral officer at Cats Protection, said to The Times: “Just like humans, cats are all different, and that makes them great pets for people from all areas of life, whether his inner cats, who are in a quiet home or more adventurous, in a bustle household and exploration of the outdoors.”
