Star Wars celebration Japan 2025: highlights and lessons – Fantha Tracks

Bank credit was bled, the jet lag is long gone and stories about the great Japanese adventure. Celebration Japan is really behind us and I told the stories about what friends and family who were not there was.

In this sense, there are three highlights of the celebration that I have come back again and again, and three lessons that were drawn from the trip and the convention that I will take for LA in 2027.

Highlight: the animation panel

This was a film event without the film. To be something special for this panel and it is always a highlight to hear Dave Filoni speaking in any quality. We saw a complete episode of Stories of the underworld And it was absolutely magical to see it on the huge screen in the celebration phase. Even with such things, it is not the case that we see it early because they can advise whether they show it that there are no big spoilers, but it is the fact that we see it together. Of course Darth Maul was the real star of the show here. The announcement and the trailer were the next excitement. Sam Witwer appeared the topper and the trailer was phenomenal. The most exciting part for me is that Dave Georges used old treatments to continue the trilogy as a blueprint for this story.

Highlight: the Ahsoka 'Trailer'

We were once again in the company of Dave Filoni to hear him about the production of the first season. We had no significant content for the show for the show, so this was a real dive. Rosario Dawson was in good shape and of course the crowd became wild when the chosen one came out. At the end of the panel, Filoni joked how he cannot come to such a celebration and cannot give fans. He said that obviously no film material, but a small factor like this George did not stop at the time when he needed a trailer The empire strikes back. What followed was just beautiful. It was a trailer that made up of concept art for season 2 with the Voice Over type from the 1950s. The moment the crowd cheered and roared was obviously the moment when the concept art showed us Zeb. Why they haven't published it since then is a mystery to me.

Highlight: the anime and manga pavilion

There was a very special and breathtaking pavilion in the main halls of the celebrations Visions. It contained works of art in the past episodes and the entire area was decorated with breathtaking production work from the show. There was even a cherry blossom tree in the middle and during the day there were conversations and obligations of the creators and directors of different episodes of the show. It felt really and unique at this celebration and like most things that turn out to be a highlight, it was completely unexpected.

Lesson learned: The first thing I did

When you're there, you know how busy it was. If they weren't there, they know how busy it was. On the first day of the celebration, I only went the exhibition floor at 5 p.m. in the evening. It is impossible to just walk around when the doors open. It always accumulates and I imagine that it is becoming increasingly common. So have a plan to do, which is not wasted. I had two panels in the first two days and was involved in a panel on the last day, which means that I knew where to be. Even if it will be due to the Hot Toys cabin – you know where you want to go. Find a smaller panel, you will find everything. Just don't go aimless -it can be pretty stressful.

Lesson learned: Get autographs from elsewhere

I'm not going to step on the old ground here, but I am sure that we are all aware of how the autographs for Hayden Christiansen go down. Last weekend at Power of the Force Con in Germany I met Anthony Daniels and waited six minutes in the queue. I spent half of what I had charged at the celebration. I met Ewan McGregor and did the same in Scotland. Celebration will always have big names. The biggest stars in our galaxy, but if you can meet them somewhere else, you save a lot and even more time. At the celebration there is always so much to do that there will be four panels you want to see while waiting in line for your photo or autograph op.

Lesson learned: Make it an adventure

To be clear at the beginning, I know that this depends on many factors such as time, money, work and family obligations. Nevertheless, when I was allowed to celebrate Japan, I was high. I had fallen in love with Japanese culture, people and the way of life. I had seen a breathtaking beauty and saw things that could only change me for the better. The celebration felt like a bonus. Relax, enjoy and do not emphasize. It will be what it will be. Is there the queue? Yes, so chat with people. Can you buy everything? No, so snap a few things and grateful. If you live in La for 2027, you can walk across the street. If you are like me and do not live in the USA, try to make the trip an adventure. Don't just go to celebrate. Thinking that there is obviously Disneyland, and until then the Lucas Museum will be opened for narrative art. Maybe you always wanted to see another state, the neighbor California? If you can get it running, do this. I saw so much of the world thanks to the world star Wars That it sometimes keeps me in my tracks. Include celebration, but also a little life. When the boy who had never grew up, he said once; “To live life … would be a terribly great adventure. “”
