Mets' AJ Minter Eyes Healthing 2026 after a LAT injury at the end of the end of the season

The METs will be without AJ Minter for the rest of this season and maybe until the year next year, with the left -handed surgery to repair a torn lat.

Minter speaks for the first time since the decision to undergo an operation next week, and said the procedure had a 10-12-month rehab process.

If everything goes well, Minter said that he could have a “normal” spring training and then not far away when the regular season begins.

But he also noticed the operation – necessary because he torn down the Lat against the nationals on April 26, so that there is not a lot of information from which you can get started.

The 31-year-old signed a two-year contract with $ 22 million in the off-season, which contains an opt-out after this year.

Minter's season ended with Atlanta last year with a hip operation in August.

He called the injury “super frustrating”.

“I felt so good,” said Minter, who had not given up a run in his previous 12 appearances and broke out 13 batteries in 10 innings during this route. “I wish I knew what it caused.”

He pointed out an increase in speed and freedom of movement in his hip as possibilities, but Minter's main focus is on 2026.

“I was excited to help this team,” said Minter. “It's a special team. I will help this team next year.”
