New book shows the legacy of Bruce White • Northwest Indiana Business Magazine

“Hospitalitrian: Bruce White's Erbe”, by Kathi Ann Brown, shares accounts of friends and family and those who benefited from his leadership style. White died of cancer in 2023. He was 70 years old.

“There are only a few selected generation that have the combination of intelligence, street smarts and recorded values that Bruce had,” said Mitches Daniels, former governor of Indiana and emeritus president of Purdue University, in a press release.

White built White Lodging, which recently invested millions in the company headquarters in Merrillville, in a national company.

JW Marriott wrote the book for the book.

“You could not be a Marriott franchisee without knowing and benefiting the knowledge, knowledge and friendship of Bruce White,” said Marriott. “He wanted us to win all: Marriott, white accommodation and hundreds of his franchisee colleagues. If that meant to rattle our cages or persuade us to rethink our guidelines, be it. His heart was in the right place and his integrity was undisputed.”

After White's death, his family, including three children, recorded the company's coat, who only knew his leadership.

You also promoted Jean-Luc Barone to CEO in 2022. Barone joined White Lodging as Vice President of Food and Beverage in 2016 and has served as a COO since 2018. Bruce's Mrs. Beth became CEO and the eldest son, Conner White, was appointed Chief Investment Officer in January.

The idea for the book started when the leadership of White Lodging absolutely wanted to share the passion of Bruce White for Life and Learning.

“We have started to document the company's history and the entrepreneurial journey of the company to ensure that every employee of the company – now and in the future – about the founder of White Lodging and his expectations of the company and our people, including our culture and the relentless pursuit of Excellence, our guests and our owners, knew, said Beth White.” When Kathi researched and put together manuscript, We saw that the stories and lessons were able to address a much wider audience, so we decided to do everything together in a book. “

“We hope to convey his relentless striving for excellence in all aspects of his life – personally, professionally and philanthropic – to mediate every student of Purdue University,” said Daniels. “And thanks to the generosity of the white family, we are on the way.”
