Six months after the rise of motorcycle star Kyle Weatherford, the drivers of the car were charged with a high-speed accident on the I-75 because of DUI-Totschlag.

The prosecutors said that Daniel Morales was behind the wheel of an Audi sports car that had crashed last November at 100 miles per hour, and killed 37-year-old Weatherford, a Motoamerica champion and father.

A life remembered

Before his death, Weatherford was celebrated in the motorcycle racing world and received the title of amateur road racer of the year in 2021.

“When he won every award, he inspired him to move to another level,” said Jennifer Tavera, former high school friend and the mother of his 17-year-old son Joshua. “He was a real friend. He would help who needed it.”

The legal dispute begins

Morales was arrested on Wednesday after a long investigation by the public prosecutor's office in Broward. During a hearing with bond, the mother of Weatherford shared the tribute that the loss demanded.

“This was destroyed by our family. He will never see that his 17-year-old son has the high school graduate high school. Kyle was a caretaker of his disabled father.”

Morales' lawyer argues that the Dui INCHLAY is questionable and claims that the blood alcohol level of Morales is hardly over the legal limit. Nevertheless, the legal process is just starting.

The homage of a son on the route

Weatherford's son Joshua said he planned to honor his father's legacy by racing. “The main path we joined was the race,” he said. “I am like him. I love the adrenaline.”
