Brad Marchand scored in OT as Panther's game 3 against Leafs

Sunrise, Fla. – The last ricochet of the night was the destination for Brad Marchand. It was also the largest score of Florida's season.

Marchand scored the Toronto Maple Leaf 5: 4 with a distracted shot at 3:27 p.m. on Friday evening and shortened their deficit in the semi -final series of the Eastern Conference.

“We just competed as we know that we can,” said Marchand.

Marchand's shot hit Torontos Morgan Rielly and sailed over goalkeeper Joseph Woll. It was one of four goals – two for each team – who achieved an opposing player on the way to the net.

Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart, Carter Veraeghe and Jonah Gadjovich achieved 27 parades from Sergei Bobrovsky for Florida. Evan Rodrigues had two templates for the Panthers, who are 13: 2 in the last 15 playoff overtime games.

John Tavares scored twice and Matthew Knies and Rielly also had goals for the Maple Leafs. Woll stopped 32 shots.

Game 4 is in sunrise on Sunday evening.

“We had overtime,” said Maple Leaf coach Craig Berube. “It's a jump. That happens many times in overtime.”

Florida deleted 2-0 and 3-1 deficits, a rarity against Toronto this season.

• The Leafs were 30-3-0 when they led after the first period, including playoffs, the second best record of the league.

• They were 38-8-2 when they first achieved the third best record of the league.

• They had blown over 11 hints throughout the season, none in the playoffs.

• They were 44-3-1 in games that they led with two or more goals.

But Marchand has never lost a series by Toronto-he is 4-0 from his days in Boston and his goal gave the Panther's hope.

“It's a second of a game,” said Marchand after his fourth playoff goal in overtime and brought him to the seventh must in the history of the NHL. “Everyone could be. … The details that apply to these plays are where the work is done.”

The Leafs scored two goals that were distracted by Panther's defensive: Tavares' second goal played Gustav's glove on the way to Bobrovsky to achieve a 3-1 lead, and Rielly's goal was rejected Seth Jones by Seth Jones to turn it 9: 04 in the third place.

“They only check what you can control,” said Bobrovsky.

A diving barkov threw the puck into the net and looked Carom in a Toronto stock to bring Florida on the board, the first of the waves of the distraction goals. Marchands was the last and greatest of them.

Down 3-1, Florida needed a break. It came.

Reinhart was attributed to a goal after Woll thought that he had covered the puck after a scrum in front of the network. After the review, however, it was found that the puck had crossed the border. Florida had life, the building was loud again and about a minute later band Verhagh at 3.

Gadjovich made it 4: 3 late in the second before Rielly in the middle of the third lane band.
