On Thursday, judge Christina Mims declared a second degree against Christopher Schurr, a former police officer of Grand Rapids, a Mistrial after three days of the considerations had not shown a unanimous judgment of Patrick Lyoya.

The trial led to a suspended jury, after 12 jurors were not unanimous that Schurr was either guilty or not guilty, undoubtedly on the murder of Lyoya. After the jury had informed Mims about a deadlock on Tuesday, the jurors were instructed to further advise and, after more than 24 hours, could not make a unanimous decision, as was necessary by the law of Michigan.

When it turned out that the jury was probably coordinated, the prosecutor of Kent County, Chris Becker, applied for a lower indictment, but this could not solve the problem. Now Becker has to decide whether to repeat the case, dismiss the fees or pursue a declaration of consent with Schurr.

Since the traffic disability, which led to the murder of Lyoya, a 26-year-old immigrant from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on April 4, 2022.

The dashboard camera, body camera and mobile phones shown in court showed Lyoya's last moments of life in graphic details. A dispute broke out after Lyoya tried to escape, and Schurr followed him. Lyoya was able to get Schurr's Taser away from him.

In the fight, Schurr ultimately gained control and positioned himself via Lyoya. He removed his pistol from his holster, put her against Lyoya's head and pulled the trigger. The application of a fatal force was carried out without an oral warning.

The defense claimed that Schurr feared for his life and acted in self -defense, while the public prosecutor argued that Lyoya was not a threat to Schurr. The Mistrial takes place only one day after three former Memphis officers were acquitted after a traffic stop at a further judicial activity due to a fatal beating of mature Nichols.

Both cases are part of a wider pattern of police force, which is mainly directed against the most impoverished and marginalized sections of the working class, including immigrants and unarmed black people. It is a fact that a large number of white men killed by the police in the USA are, but it is also true that blacks and Hispanics are arrested, sought and exposed to the use of strengths that are disproportionate for their percentage of the entire population.

While minorities in some areas of the country, such as in the rural south, such as the rural south, such as the rural south, the police in some areas of the country, such as in rural south, fell considerably more often than white Americans by the police with almost identical rates. This indicates the class of police violence and its relationship with the repressive purpose of the entire law enforcement apparatus as an instrument of capitalist rule.
