Purple balloons that were released for the 10-year-old, who was killed by Baum, who fell on Vine City's house

Atlanta, Ga. (Atlanta News First)-A vigil for 10-year-old A'erica Dixon was held in the Rodney Cook Sr. Park after she was killed by a tree that fell on her house.

“I didn't know how many hearts she touched. A'erica was unique,” said A'erica's mother Santice Dixon.

Over a hundred people came to the balloon publication.

“Sprudel. Always dance around,” said her aunt Pam Benton.

“A'erica was very sociable, very happy, as you see, she had a lot of love,” said her aunt Erica Melson.

A'erica Dixon was killed at the weekend when a tree fell on her house. A tree that her family had asked to cut their landlord.

“The greatest fear of being somewhere and you can't save your child. I tried it,” said Santice.

The tree also sent A'erica's mother and grandmother to the hospital. Her grandmother Priscilla is paralyzed on her right side.

“It is just very difficult. She starts rehab on Monday and we just want to be there as much as possible for her,” said Melson.

But Friday was the community here for the Dixon family.

“You just feel hopeless to see how people get out and the cause of life that is gone is overwhelming,” said Benton.

The family tries to collect money for A'erica's funeral and for Priscilla's doctor bills on Gofundme.
