Palm Springs, California (Kesq) – A suspect was arrested on Thursday in connection with the fatal accident with three cars on March 27, 2024 at the intersection of the North Indian Canyon Drive and the 20th Avenue in Palm Springs.

After an investigation by the Palm Springs Police Department of Traffic Division, a 66-year-old man from the Hot Springs desert was identified as a driver who was responsible for the fatal crash. The police took the man in custody for an order for murder and booked him to the John Benoit -Intertion camp in Indio.

The investigators report that the suspect driver drove to the south at the Indian Canyon Drive at a high speed when he hit two cars that slower at the intersection of the 20th Avenue.

The investigation showed that the driver drove over 100 miles per hour at the time of the impact.

Alexa Labrecque, 28, from Desert Hot Spring was declared dead at the crime scene. Three other people in your car suffered medium -weight injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The suspicious driver was also injured and taken to a hospital.

The examination also showed that alcohol and drugs were not a factor for the crash.

The police presented the case to the district prosecutor of Riverside County, who submitted an indictment for murder after checking the evidence collected by the PSPD traffic department.
