Video areas of Pope Leo XIV on White Sox World Series broadcast in 2005

Pope Leo XIV, the new Supreme Pope, who was previously known as Cardinal Robert Prevost, is the first American Pope. Not only that – the native chicago is a baseball fan. His brother John quickly pressed Cubs fan rumors and said WGN that the new Pope was a white Sox supporter.

Then the Chicago Sun-Times Received a photo of the future Pope Leo XIV at the World Series 2005 between the White Sox and the Houston Astros. And now, even better – he made the Fox program when he took part in game 1 of the 1955 Herbst Classic. You can see the clip here that appeared on Friday thanks to some excavations by Joe Binder von SOX at 35.:

And here is Leo's photo that appeared on Thursday. It shows himself on the far left on a cell phone in the background of a picture by Ed Schmit – a close friend of Leo who died in 2020 – and his grandson.

In Leo's presence in the series, The White Sox game 1 5–3 won over the Astros before claiming the title in a four-game swey as right field player Jermaine Dye, appointed World Series MVP. The championship was the first in 88 years of White Sox and its only win from the World Series since then. Perhaps there is a turnaround in the future of the franchise with the rise of its new most famous fan to the papacy.

The Pope was born in 1955 and grew up in Dolton, Illinois, south of the city limits of Chicago.
