20-year-old in a critical condition after crash against Mass Pike

Palmer, mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A result of a story that we brought you first as Breaking News at the beginning of this month.

A 20-year-old is now in a critical condition after a tractor trailer collapsed a little more than a week along the Massachusett Turnpike in Palmer.

Western Mass News spoke exclusively to the family to find out what is being done to support them.

The Lilly Hall from Montville Connecticut was seriously injured on April 17, after he got a car accident in the mass pile on the way to work. The crash included a tractor trailer.

Hall and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Cullen Mulldune, had to be out of the vehicle from the vehicle that was under the tract.

They were both flown to the hospital by helicopter, where Lilly was intubated and immediately went under two large operations. She even caught pneumonia in the hospital.

Mulldune died three days after the crash in the hospital. He donated his organs that saved the father's life of his best friend.

Lilly suffered several serious injuries, including a C4 burst fracture that she left with a spinal cord injury.

On Monday afternoon we spoke to Lilly's mother Leslie Balgobin, who wanted to stay from the camera. At the moment she told us that her daughter is currently in a ventilation system, but in a stable state.

“This will be a lifelong recovery for Lilly. I think she will run again, and even after learning how to do it all again, she will still need help.”

Balgobin told Western Mass News that the care that her daughter has received so far was incredible, and she was grateful for all medical employees who saved her daughter's life.

A fundraiser was carried out to support Lilly's medical editions.

We will have more of Lilly's mother Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Western mass messages.
