Qatar leads the Syria search for corpses of US -Geiseln, which was killed by Isil: Report | Investigation messages

According to anonymous sources, the search and rescue group has so far found the remains of three non-identified areas.

A catarian mission has started to look for the group of US hostages in Syria armed by the ISIL (ISIS) about 10 years ago, according to Reuters' news agency, citing two sources reported on the mission.

The international search and rescue group from Qatar began the search on Wednesday with the help of several US state members who wanted to remain anonymous, the news agency reported.

So far, according to the sources, three non -identified corpses have been found by the group. The focus of the mission was to locate Peter Kassig's auxiliary room, which was beheaded by Isil in Dabiq, Northern Syria in 2014, a Syrian security source told Reuters.

The American auxiliary worker Kayla Mueller and the US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff were killed by Isil, among others. Foley and Sotloff were killed in 2014. Müller's killing was confirmed in 2015.

“We are grateful that everyone takes on this task and risk their lives under certain circumstances to try to find Jim's corpses and the other hostages,” said Diane Foley, James Foley's mother. “We thank everyone who is involved in these efforts.”

The Qatarian mission begins because US President Donald Trump is preparing to visit Doha and other Arab capitals in Golf next week, and when the new government of Syria is looking for relief from the sanctions imposed by the United States.

Together with some other western governments, Washington said that it would be waiting for the new authorities to exercise their power and ensure human rights before increasing sanctions.

The United Kingdom removed its sanctions against 12 Syrian government companies last month, including the ministries of defense and interior and the management for general secret services.

Long -term commitment

ISIL once controlled large parts of Syria and Iraq that prevailed over millions of people. At the height of his power from 2014 to 2017, it beheaded numerous people in captivity, including western hostages, and published videos of the murders.

A coalition of more than 80 countries cited by the USA was founded in September 2014 to combat Isil.

The war against the group officially ended in March 2019, when the fighters of the Syrian democratic armed forces supported by the United States and Kurdish conquered the eastern Syrian city of Baghouz, the last piece of land that ISIL controlled.

During a visit to Washington in April by Qatar, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al Thani and the Minister of State Mohammed Al Khulaifi, a trip that was also prepared for Trump's visit to Qatar, were planned during a visit to Washington in April.

Another person who was familiar with the topic stated that the successive US administration had given a long -term obligation to find the remains of the murdered US state members, and that there are several previous “efforts with US government officials in Syria to carry out very specific areas”.

The person has not worked out, the report says. However, the United States has used hundreds of soldiers in northeastern Syria who have continued to follow Isil's remains.

The person said that the remains of Kassisig, Sotloff and foley were most likely in this part of the country. Mueller's case was different than she was in the care of the ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, added the person.

Two ISIL members, both former British citizens, who are called part of a cell called the “Beatles”, which contained US geiseln, are serving lifelong prisoners in the United States.
