CHP identifies the drivers killed in the event of incorrect crash in Nipomo

Update (Tuesday, April 29, 1:55 p.m.) – California Highway Patrol published new information on a fatal accident accident in Nipomo on Monday.

Officers say that Fernando Contreras, 70, from Santa Maria, drove south on the Orchard Road in a Chevrolet Silverado. In southern Cherry Blossom Place, Contreras plunged head -on into a Toyota RAV 4 driven by Darlene Leticia Scruggs (49) from Nipomo.

The power of the impact pushed the Toyota off the street, while the Silverado rolled out and pushed into a BMW that drove north behind the Toyota.

Contreras and scruggs died at the scene. The driver of the BMW survived.

Officers believe that contreras drove rapidly and in the wrong way at the time of the crash.

(Monday, April 28, 7 p.m.) -Zwei People were killed on Monday evening in a three-vehicle accident with a potential false driver in Nipomo.

An official of the California Highway Patrol said that a white pickup truck that drives south on the Orchard Road seems to have driven to the northern lane near Cherry Blossom Place at around 6:30 p.m. and fall against a SUV and a third vehicle.

The male driver in the pickup and the female driver in the SUV both died at the scene.

The third driver suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.

The official adds that speed seems to be a factor. At this point it is unclear whether drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
