The FIS has worked tirelessly to find a solution to prevent similar situations in the future. In fact, the officers recently announced their plans to improve device control for upcoming competitions.

According to the organization, Mathias Hafele will join the equipment control team and work directly with the ski jump and the Nordic combined teams. Hafele wants to bring fresh eyes and insights with the current ski jumping controller Christian Kathol, who has resigned.

In addition to Hafele, the organization stated that “FIS started a long-term project in order to examine, regulate and control the potential of deeper and fundamental changes in relation to ski jumping equipment, in particular the suits. Switzerland.”

While the details of the comprehensive plan do not yet have to be published for the public, it is encouraging to see FIS diligently to improve their processes and protocols. This is only the beginning of what is expected to be a long -term plan, although it is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.
