Chicago White Sox GM Chris Getz offers several injury updates

Chicago – The White Sox squad played 28 games in the season in Flux, and injuries have a contribution to factor.

After his return from a road trip of 10 games, General Manager Chris Getz spoke in front of the reporters before the 18.40 PM CT First Pitch against Milwaukee Brewers on various topics, including injuries.

Infieldder Josh Rojas begins a rehab task with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights on Tuesday. He was on the injured list all the season with a broken toe, but Getz said Rojas was “probably returning next week”.

With the Mariners in 2024, Rojas was worth 2.2 victories over the replacement when he scored eight Homeruns, drove in 31 runs, scored 10 bases steel and 0.225 with an ops of 0.641. In his six-year MLB career, he has 282 appearances in the third base, but he also played at least 43 games in the second base, Shortstop, left Field and Right Field. The White Sox signed him a one-year contract of $ 3.5 million in the off-season.

Getz expects the Infield Chase Meidroth to return later this week. He has been on the injured list of the right thumb inflammation since April 29. Medroth was in 8th place under White Sox and gave his MLB debut on April 11th. In nine games and 31 record appearances before injuries, he had four runs, seven goals, an RBI, a stolen base, five walks and four rashes.

“We look forward to the fact that these players add something to the club, a nice thrust,” said Getz about Rojas and Medroth.

The White Sox are waiting for the outfield Mike Tauchman (right thigh strain), the outfield Austin Slater (right meniscal tear) and the catcher Korey Lee (left ankle flush). Getz estimated two weeks until Lee's return.

“Korey stacked some quality days and feels pretty good,” said Getz. “It is still in a run, but the swelling is down. It becomes more confident, which is an important step to recover from an excavation from ankle. He will also do a rehab task in the near future.”

According to Getz, it will be closer to the two- to 3-week range for Tauchman and Slater.

“Obviously it will be nice to have these boys back in the line -up and only in the veteran presence that can be helpful if they navigate in one season,” said Getz. “… these boys are doing well. The feedback was very strong from the employees and the players, and these are important parts for the organization.”
