At least 33 people killed in Sudan in alleged RSF attacks | Sudan was news

Paramilitary violence was held responsible for attacks on a prison in El-OBD and a repression camp in Darfur.

At least 33 people were killed in Sudan in attacks in which the suspicion of attacks carried out by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) when brutal two -year war war had been carried out.

An RSF strike against a prison on Saturday in El-Ebee killed at least 19 people, while at least 14 members of the same family were killed in an air raid in Darfur on Friday evening, the local sources said.

The attack in part of the persistent war of the RSF with the military government of Sudanese armed forces (SAF) since 2023 camers after six days as a result of the drone attacks of the paramilitary group on the war capital of the army of Port Sudan.

These attacks damaged the most important infrastructure, including a power grid and the last operational civil airport of the country, which was an important goal for the help for the nation characterized by the war.

The war left tens of thousands dead, sold 13 million people and triggered what the United Nations describes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

The attack on the prison on Saturday also wounded 45 people, said a medical source of the AFP news agency. The source said that the prison in the city controlled by the army in the state capital North Kordofan had been hit by an RSF drone.

The night before, 14 people were killed in the Abu Shouk shift camp near El-Fasher in Darfur, said a rescue group that blamed the paramilitar.

The camp “was the goal of intensive bombing by the Rapid Support Forces on Friday evening,” said the group of volunteer auxiliary staff.

The camp near El-Fasher, the last state capital in Darfur, which is still from the control of the RSF, is plagued by hunger.

It is the home of tens of thousands of people who have fled the violence of successive conflicts in Darfur, and the conflict that has been tearing the third largest country in Africa since 2023.

The RSF has shot at the camp several times in the past few weeks.

Abu Shouk is located near the Zamzam camp, which the RSF confiscated in April after a devastating offensive that practically emptied it.

RSF escalation

Elsewhere on Saturday, SAF fighting aircraft met RSF positions in the Nyala and EL-Genina's Darfur cities and destroyed weapons and military equipment, said a military source AFP.

The RSF recently announced that the strategic city of al-Nahud in West Kordofan, an important line of care of the army, has increased for Darfur.

The escalation of the RSF in Port Sudan at the beginning of this month after the military had met Nyala Airport in South Darn, where the RSF received foreign military aid, including drones. Local media stated that dozens of RSF officers were killed in the attack.

The United Arab Emirates accused the Sudan authorities organized by Sudan to provide these drones to the RSF, which does not have its own Air Force.

The war began as a power struggle between SAF boss Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy, the RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. It effectively shared the country into two, with the army controlling the north, east and the center, while the RSF and its allies dominate almost the entire Darfur in the west and parts of the south.

Both sides were accused of committing war crimes.
