Around 4 p.m. on May 4, a resident Gaston reported to see a man who was later identified as Dickey, appeared from the forest and stealed a car. He drove to the initial public prosecutor's office in Gaston Residence, who had reacted to the day before and prepared himself in the house.

Federico's father, Stephen Federico, remembered his daughter during the press conference. At the time of her death she worked two jobs when she studied to become a teacher, he said.

“My daughter, I appreciated. She was a strong, funny, loving person who did what she wanted and was spicy. She was the greatest Taylor Swift fan I've ever seen,” he said. “She loved and dear children – children of all ages.”

He also shared a message from his daughter. “You can't kill my mind,” he said.

Duey is charged with a convicted criminal, two cases of great theft, Grand theft of a motor vehicle, three cases of financial transaction, due to murder, two cases of the first degree break -in, two owners of a weapon during the commissioning of a violent crime.

“Dickey … he is a criminal,” said Holbrook.

Court files show that Dickey was involved in 40 criminal and traffic cases between 2013 and the present. He has convicts to break and enter, burglary, great theft, strong robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, resistance to the arrest and much more.

His most recent conviction for resistance to the arrest led to a 30-day prison sentence.

No words can alleviate the pain of their loss, but we stand with them to support and grief.” Police in Columbia said in a Monday declaration. “In this case, the strength of the collaboration is highlighted. We are grateful for the outstanding partnership between the office of Richland County Coroner, the department of the sheriff of Lexington County and our team of the city of Columbia. Due to our joint efforts, a suspect was identified and recorded.”

“We are still obliged to pursue judiciary and support the family family with every step of the way,” added the department.
