The former headmaster who was sentenced to prison for sexual crimes

Owensboro, Ky. (WFIE/Gray News) – A former superintendent of a school district in Kentucky was sentenced to prison on Wednesday after he was guilty of several sex crimes.

Court officials say that 53-year-old Matthew Constant was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

The Owensboro Public Schools superintendent used to be constant. Owensboro is located south of the border between Indiana.

Constant was arrested in July 2023 after an investigation by the Kentucky State Police. In February of this year he was guilty of nine charges.

According to court files, his guilty plea was not part of a plea.

He was charged with an inferiority of the obscene material to an underage, online loosening of a small and sexual exploitation of children because of online efforts of a minor/preservation of child pornography.

The Kentucky State Police said that the investigation began in May 2023 when a third told the officials that they believed that they had an inappropriate relationship with a student in another school district.

He was then suspended by his role as a superintendent and later arrested.

Through their investigation, the police said that it had found evidence of other inappropriate communication with minors in both Kentucky and Indiana.

“Just because someone has a certain position does not mean that he [don’t] Make bad decisions or do risky things, ”said KSP Trooper Corey King in 2023.
