Soldier of border security, Mohammed Imteyaz killed, 7 injured in Pakistaner fire in Jammu


Jammu:

A BSF soldier was killed and seven others were injured on Saturday in Pakistani along the international border in Jammu.

The incident took place in the RS Pura sector, they said.

A senior officer of the border security forces (BSF) said that sub -inspector Mohammed Imteyaz had brought the top victim as he gallantly led from the front.

Together with seven others, he was injured by cross -border shot initiated by Pakistan. While Imteyaz succumbed to his injuries, the other staff was taken to a hospital, the official said.

“We welcome the top victim of the BSF Braveheart-Subinspector MD Imteyaz on May 10, 2025 during the cross-border discharge along the international border in RS Pura, District Jammu,” said the Jammu Frontier of the armed forces in one position on X.

It also added that the general director of BSF and all ranks of his family offered their deepest condolences.

A wreath celebration will take place in the Jammu Frontier headquarters of BSF Jammu Frontier in Paloura to honor Imteyaz, said the officer.

The BSF is commissioned to guard a more than 2,000 kilometer front between India and Pakistan.

India and Pakistan have agreed to an armistice, and Foreign Minister Vikram Misri announced that the general director of the military operations of both countries had decided to stop from 5 p.m. on Saturday at 5 p.m.
