Topeka Man dies on Friday evening in the Rollover -Crash north of Lawrence

Douglas County, Kan. (Wibw) -A Topeka man died on Friday evening north of Lawrence after a Rollover accident with a vehicle.

According to a social media post from the sheriff of Douglas County, a police officer from Lawrence was a vehicle, a White Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, in a field near Midland Junction near the US Highway 24-59 and the road N 2000 shortly after 11 p.m.

The 22-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and the officer, the MPs and the doctors tried life-saving measures at the scene.

The sheriff's office identified the driver as Benjamin Eddie Thomas Brooks from Topeka.

The DGSO crash reconstruction team has examined the scene and will complete a crash report.

At this point, a preliminary indication that the driver missed the curve and there is no evidence that other vehicles were involved.
