SAN ANTONIO – A story about airport problems, which a customer in the back of Esteban Torres' ride -in cars were forwarded, was drowned in the early Tuesday morning by the sound of a fiery explosion.

A dashboard camera in Torres car also grasped the moment together with Torres and his customer's comments.

“Even in the video, my reaction was a kind of monotonous. I didn't know how to react,” Torres hours later told KSAT 12 messages. “I've never seen anything like that.”

The police in San Antonio said that the investigators were still not sure what went wrong.

According to the witnesses, however, the truck suddenly left around 4 a.m. and collided with a motorway sign and a barrier that rolled on the side before driving along the streets directed to the east.

At some point the 18-wheel broke up in flames.

“He turned to the barrier on the left and lost control. It literally exploded only on the impact,” said Torres. “It is unhappy whether he fell asleep at the wheel or only made a critical mistake, hit something and loses control.”

Police officers said they found the driver, whose name was not published and still strapped his seat belt.

The truck cabin was reduced to a burned-out shell.

The fuel of the great rig was overloaded through the alleys to the east. Rümmer from the explosion was flying to the other side of the highway.

The police closed the highway in both directions for several hours. The remaining closed lanes were reopened after 1 p.m.

Torres said what he saw was urgent and could even force him to change a career.

“I've done Lyft for a while, and it somehow let me rethink, especially since I do it at night,” said Torres. “I always say to my wife and my children:” Hey, there could be a day when I can't get home. “And it makes me think about it.”
