Highlights from the victory of Texas Tech against Arizona

play

Texas Tech entered the 2025 Big 12 softball tournament in Oklahoma City as a favorite to win the event. The Red Raiders went as a champion.

Texas Tech followed his Big 12 title with the regular season with a conference tournament championship and took Arizona 4-0 on Saturday in the Oge Energy Field in Devon Park.

The Big 12 championship is the first in the program history. It completes a remarkable turnaround for a newly performing, transfer-heavy Red Raiders service plan, which increased the program to new heights after the Texas Tech had only gone 8-16 in Big 12 Play last season.

The Red Raiders were worn by Star Pitcher Nijaree Canady, who only gave up two goals and scored eight in a complete conclusion. Canady only allowed two balls to hit the outer field, both were popouts.

The offensive production of Texas Tech was highlighted in a fourth inning by four runs by a double from Freshman Hailey Toney, which brought two runs home. Victoria Valdez and Mihyia Davis also had RBIs in this inning.

The Red Raiders ended their regular season with 45-12 in total, while Arizona fell to 45-11. Both teams entered the Big 12 tournament in the top 15 US softball survey in the USA, which means that both organize a region during the 2025 NCAA tournament. The tournament selection show will be broadcast on Sunday evening.

The BIG 12 -Softball champion in the regular season repeated the feat in the league tournament.

Behind seven Shutout Internings by Nijaree Canady, who achieved eight batteries, Texas Tech Arizona defeated 4-0 for the first Big 12-Softball championship in the program history.

The Red Raiders and Wildcats now expect where they end during the 2025 NCAA tournament during the NCAA selection show on Sunday evening.

For the second time in three innings, Arizona was able to bring two runners on the basis, but it was empty again.

With the runners on the first and second and only one in the sixth inning, Devyn Netz hit a big back to Nijaree Canady, who threw Bailey Lindemuth in third place, who was able to bring it back to throw it back to end the rare 1: 3-5 double game to end the inning.

The wildcats first challenged the exclamation, but it was confirmed after the review.

In their second time, the wildcats were able to cause some damage to Nijaree Canady in their second time, a single and one walk to first and second place with two outs in the fourth inning.

However, Canady was able to escape the jam and excluded Kaiah Altmeyer to end the inning and keep arizona goalless. Canady now has four strikes through four innings.

Arizona compared to a four-run deficit has made a pitching change after the second inning that pulls the starter Ryan Maddox and inserts Miranda Stoddard.

Maddox, a newcomer, gave up four goals and four deserved runs in two innings, while he was walking, not struck out and threw a wild field.

After Texas Tech has been in order, he gets through with a huge second inning and brings four runs over the plate for a 4-0 lead.

With the runners on the first and third with an out, Victoria Valdez, she brought her to the center and brings a run home.

Two batteries later and with two outs and runners in the first and third place, Hailey Toney doubled from the left field wall to bring two more runs home, and rose to third place with a faulty throw. Mihyia Davis immediately reacted with another run and sang to bring Toney home.

Since Nijaree Canady is as she is, the Red Raiders may already have an insurmountable lead into the third inning.

Six Up and Six Down for Texas Tech and Arizona, both of whom do not get a runner on board in the first inning.
