Haider Akbar Khan Rano

Today is the first anniversary of the death of the left politician and author Haider Akbar Khan Rano.

That day last year he died in a city hospital after suffering from lung diseases at the age of 82.

He was buried in the Banani cemetery next to the graves of his parents.

He was a member of the Bangladesh Communist Party until his death.

CPB President Mohammad Shah Alam and Secretary General Ruhin Hossain Prince on Saturday said in a press release that the death of Haider Akbar Khan Rano was an irreparable defeat against the country's policy.

Haider Akbar Khan Rano was born on August 31, 1942 in his parent house in Kolkata.

His main village is Barshala in Narail. His father Hatem Ali Khan was an engineer.

Rano completed his enrollment test at the Saint Gregory School in Dhaka in 1958 and in 1960 his intermediate from Notre Dame College.

He was a brilliant student and entered the physics department of the University of Dhaka, but did not conclude his conclusion and later graduated in Jurasta when he was in prison.

From 1963 to 1965 he was involved in student politics and became general secretary of the Bangladesh Chhattra Union.

He was one of the prominent organizers of the 1969 mass movement and took part in the 1971 War of Independence.

He organized Freedom Fighters in Shibpur in Dhaka and then went to India and worked there as the organizer of the war.

He was a close employee of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani.

He caught up with the Bangla Oscar for his writings.

He was a Marxist thinker and author of 25 books, including an autobiography entitled Shatabdi Peria and some other books based on the country's politics. To mark the day, family members of Rano will place flower wreaths in his grave on the Banani cemetery at 8:00 a.m. At 4:30 p.m. there is a memorial meeting in the Syed Waliullah Auditorium in the Bangla Academy.
