No. 15 Tennessee Baseball (39-11, 15-10 seconds) will be fought on Saturday in game two by a series with three games in Knoxville against Vanderbilt Commodores No. 11 (34-16, 14-11 seconds).

The first place in the Lindsey Nelson Stadium takes place at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

ESPN2 will have the program for game three.

Tennessee joins the game on Friday, which opens an exciting 3-2 win in the series. Liam Doyle only gave three goals and no walks in goalless Sieben Innings. The hard insane left-handed tried 12 strikes and threw 100 parking spaces, making another dominant second start.

Hunter Ensley was also massive in the victory of the Vols. The redshirt senior went 2-4 on the plate and took off a brilliant new year to achieve a run in seventh place. He also made a “economical” catch on the Centerfield Wall and made a sliding catch to end the game.

Tennessee entered the series and fought in the second game and urgently needed a series victory. The Vols have dropped four of the last five series and three directly at home, a premiere in Tony Vitello era. Tennessee will strive to end this series with a series victory on Saturday.

Friday was a good start to the weekend for the Vols. It brings you to a much better position to avoid the regional NCAA hosting bubble. A series win against Vandy should do that as well.

The Commodores enter the series with the same 14-10 second record like Tennessee, but they did it differently. Vanderbilt swept three opponents and was swept by another. You changed victories and losses of the series last six weekends and last weekend you have an exciting victory for the home series against Alabama.

Vanderbilt has a strong pitching staff. Sawyer Hawks published a 1.26 ERA in 35.2 Innerings from the Bullpen and Alex Kranzler published an ERA of 3.38 ERA in 32 Innerings.

Vanderbilt has an overwhelming insult again. The Commodores rank in a basic percentage and outside the 150 best percentage top 15 national international in the top 180. But there are a few bats to know. Riley Nelson meets 17 additional hits .361. Brodie Johnson blew up a team bar 10 Homeruns and 25 extra base hits.

The most worrying for Tennessee is how often Vanderbilt bases steal. RJ Austin has 20, Jacob Humphrey 16, Rustan Rigdon 14 and Mike Mancini 13th Tennessee Pitcher largely struggle with runners as soon as they enter into.

Tennessee has dominated the series in the last three seasons against its competitor in the States after winning 10 of the 12 meetings between the two in this period, including nine victories in a row before dropping the series finale in Nashville last season.

The Vols and Commodores were five times in Hoover last year. UT went 3-2 in these games, including a 6: 4 victory in the Sec Tournament semi-final on the way to win his second conference title in three years.

Forecast: Vanderbilt's ability to steal bases at high speed, and great pitching employees worry me. On paper, Vanderbilt is the choice of winning games two and three. But “if not now, when?” Is where we are with this Tennessee team. It played a determined baseball on Friday and I think you can achieve a series victory.

However, it will probably have to happen on Saturday, since Tennessee will probably fight off to Vanderbilts Sunday starter and the Sunday pitching of the Vols has not been good lately.

Vols win two out of three (you win Saturday).

Notes for injuries/availability
  • RHP AJ Russell has to deal with a bladder and was not listed as a more likely starter for Sunday. But he should be easy to play this weekend because he was not listed in the availability report.
    • If you don't call a Sunday starter, Tennessee also leaves the door open to start Tegan Kuhns, who was great a week ago.
  • In the second game against Kentucky a foul ball unfortunately met Tennessee Relief Pitcher Tanner Wiggins in the mouth. Tony Vitello said that there were teeth that were involved in Wiggins' injury, and the second year was then operated on his jaw.
    • Read more about the Wiggins status here.
  • UNC Transfer First Baseman Alberto Osuna does not remain eligible.
    • But last Monday Osuna took legal steps again to be justified. Read more here.

Pitching notes:
  • Phillips Bump Day. He was great on average a week ago and the week before.
    • Dylan Loy pushed a 3.2-in-making appearance last Saturday. Tennessee has a full bullpen behind Phillips today.
  • Bowker is currently the worst weekend starter. He has a few good performances, but mostly mediocre.

Tennessee: Home Whites (in an orange …)

Vanderbilt: Black pinstripes
